Three Decades of Connecting Business to Opportunity

SevenStar was founded in 1995 on a simple idea: organizations perform better when they can access the right expertise, relationships, and solutions. Across two generations of leadership, the capabilities have expanded, but that principle has remained constant.

1995 — The Foundation

Gary Stopp founded SevenStar after building experience across human resources, tribal gaming, operations, professional services, and tribal business. His background included work associated with establishing Deloitte & Touche’s Indian Practice and experience helping tribal governments and businesses address human resources, operational efficiency, management, and economic-development challenges.

Gary Stopp’s ties to Indian Country are part of SevenStar’s history.

Gary’s relationship with Indian Country has never been simply a line on a résumé. His professional work and personal relationships have been built over decades of direct engagement with tribal communities, governments, enterprises, and leaders. That experience gave SevenStar an institutional foundation unusual for a small advisory firm: an understanding of Indian Country combined with access to sophisticated professional and business resources.

SevenStar’s role was not simply to offer advice. It was to understand the client’s challenge, identify the expertise required, and help bring the right resources to the table.

2020 — The Next Generation

Michael Stopp

Michael Stopp assumed leadership of SevenStar and expanded that foundation through a career spanning Congress, federal and tribal affairs, finance, marketing, business development, and private-sector consulting.

His experience includes work in the United States Congress, including senior congressional leadership responsibilities; federal and tribal policy; economic development; finance; marketing; corporate and business development; and advising organizations operating at the intersection of government and the private sector. That experience gives SevenStar perspective from inside many of the institutions and decision-making environments its clients must navigate—not simply experience advising them from the outside.

SevenStar Today

Today, SevenStar is a business performance advisory firm built on more than three decades of institutional experience. We combine the judgment and relationships developed across two generations with a curated network of specialized technologies, professional expertise, and solution providers.

The objective is practical: help organizations identify opportunities to reduce costs, recover capital, generate revenue, and strengthen operations—and bring the appropriate resources to bear when an opportunity is identified.

Our Continuity

Gary Stopp’s generation established a model centered on access to sophisticated expertise and resources. Michael Stopp’s generation expanded that model across government, tribal, financial, commercial, and technology environments. SevenStar today turns that accumulated experience into a scalable advisory platform for modern business challenges.

Our role has always been the same: understand the challenge, identify the opportunity, and bring the right resources to the table.

The tools have changed. The mission has not.
